Upon review and measurement of the driveway and area to be paved completed by the estimator, the homeowner will be given a copy of the estimate contract. When in agreement, the homeowner will return the copy of the estimate and the work to be completed will be scheduled.
Gravel driveway to Blacktop driveway
The area to be blacktopped will be graded and stone will be added if necessary to establish a solid base. The distribution of stone will vary depending on what is necessary for proper drainage. Stone may be added to the base if deemed necessary. The blacktop will be loaded into the paver, which will distribute 4″ total top coat blacktop evenly across the surface to be blacktopped. A 3-5 ton roller will smooth the blacktop. The edges will be tamped to give a finished look and to prohibit water from entering at the edges. The driveway will be completed by the crew and then taped off so it may harden.
Resurfacing/Recapping (Blacktop to Blacktop)
The area will be evaluated. If contract states broken areas to be dug out and removed that will occur. Edges of driveway may be re-cut to straighten, the driveway may be patched to grade with hot mix blacktop if stated on contract, and all debris will be hauled away from the jobsite. The driveway will then receive a tack-coat, which allows the new hot mix blacktop to adhere properly to the driveway. At this time the hotmix blacktop totaling 2″ will be applied to the driveway by the paver and compacted by the 3-5 ton roller.
Seal Coating
The driveway will be prepared as needed to apply the liquid sealer. The driveway will be sealed by hand for heavy coverage. This process is completed with the help of a tank, which holds the sealer, but the application is professionally-applied by hand.
Additions
If the area is to grade then it will be leveled and the blacktop will be applied by using a paver and then compacted by a roller. If the area needs to be stoned or if it needs any other attention before the work can be completed then the work will be completed as the contract states.
